WOMENS’ INSTITUTES

ALFREDTON BRANCH, f SUCCESSFUL BULB SHvX^

The Alfrcdton branch of the Women’s Institute held its first bulhjhow in the Alfredton Hall on Saturdf^st.

The show proved a huge success, entries being numerous in all sections. Mr A. A. Ball,-of Masterton, acted as judge of the flower sections, and also gave a short address during the afternoon. Judging by the enthusiastic attendance, next year’s show promises to be even more successful.

KAITUNA-FERNRIDGE MEETING.

There was a good attendance of members at the monthly meeting of the Kaituna-Fernridge Women’s Institute, the president (Mrs P. R. Welch) being in the chair.

A talk on life in Burma —relating interesting experiences and incidents there —by Mrs Gibson Young, and a demonstration by her on ' ‘ How to Dress Poultry,” were found very interesting by members. Mrs Pringle and Mrs R. Welch were appointed delegates to the half-veaily conference of the Federation at Eketahuna next month.

The hostesses for the afternoon were Mrs Tavlforth, Rusafe and Miss E. Shaw.
