WANGANUI RACES. WANGANUI, Saturday. The Wanganui Jockey Club’s Spring meeting was concluded to-day in fine weather. The going was good and the attendance improved. The totalisator handled £11,015 as compared with £9277 10s on the second day last year. The total for the meeting was £lß,Oll 10s against £15,531 last year. A length and a half; three-quarters of a length. Time, 1.16. After the race an inquiry was held into interference by Sir Nigel with the other runners near the half mile but the committee, after hearing the evidence and explanation of the riders concerned, found that the interference was accidental.
Wanganui Guineas, * 14m.—1, Pin Money (P. Atkins), 1; 2, Mother Su- 1 perior, 2; 5, Burnish, 3. Also started: 6 Inveresk, 4 Evasion, 3 Superior. Burnish moved up fast on the home turn but Pin Money ran home two lengths ahead of Mother Superior with Burnish a neck away. Time, 1.44 4-5.

ASHBURTON RACES. ASHBURTON, Saturday. The Ashburton Spring races were held in fine but cold weather. The totalisator handled £7743 10s, against £6164 for seven events last year. After the Longbeacli Handicap the Stewards held an inquiry into a complaint by Brodie against Murfitt, alleging interference at the turn into the straight. After hearing the evidence the stewards took no action. An inquiry was also held into the running of Wild Dreams in the Selma Trot, the stewards taking no action. Camellia Stakes.—Care Free 1, Roman Spear 2. Blixton 3. Autopav (N.Z.I ran, lint was left nt tlie harrier. Tim Masquerader (N.Z.I was just beaten for third place. Won by a neck; half a neck. Closing Time was scratched.
Rosehill Soring Handicap.—Oro 1, Bracburn 2. Polnus 3. Won bv a head. Rogilla was scratched for the. Hill Stakes.
