LOVELOCK BEATS BONTHRON.

LONDON, Saturday.

Oxford and Cambridge beat Prince-town-Cornell by seven points to five. The reshults: —One mile: Lovelock, 1; Bonthron (Princetown), 2; Leach (Oxford), 3. Time, 4.15 ; 2-5. Quarter mile: Kane (Cornell), 1; Rathbone (Cambridge), 2; Horsfall, the Australian (Cambridge), 3. Time, 48 4-5 seconds. Horsfall was fourth in the long jump, 21ft. 7J inches. In the mile Lovelock, lying handy, challenged Bonthron in the last lap. There was a terrific tussle, every yard being fiercely contested. The New Zealander entered the straight slightly ahead and won by two yards. The time was somewhat disappointing in view of the runners’ previous records.
