STOCK MARKET

WRIGHT, STEPHENSON AND CO,

Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., report: We held a most successful sale at Pirinoa yesterday on behalf of Mr P. S. McDonald, who has given up dairying. The cows came forward in .excellent condition and met keen competition from local dairymen and farmers as far away as Upper Hutt. Coming off country that is not altogether suitable for dairying, buyers realised that the cows would do well wherever taken. Best Jersey-cross cows' close to calving sold up to £6. Later calvers made from £2/15/- to £3/10/-. The whole herd averaged just on £3 17/6, while springing heifers realised £3/10/-.
