AMATEUR CONTESTS. Wrestling of a liigli standard was seen at Featlierston last night, when a team of the Featlierston Wrestling Club tried conclusions with the representatives of Anton Koolnian’s school, of Wellington. The contest resulted in a draw, both sides winning four matches and two being drawn. There was a large attendance of spectators, who thoroughly enjoyed the evening s entertainment. The Featlierston boys were congratulated by Mr Koolman on their win, which came to him as a surprise. Incidentally teams from Mr Koolman’s school had taken part this week in contests at Wellington, Wanganui, Palmerston North, Featlierston and Napier. Following are the results of the bouts last night, Featlierston competitors given first in every case (three three-minute rounds): Carlyon, 10st 21b beat Jameson, 10st., by one fall to none; E. Benton, lOst, drew with Millar, 9st 121 b., a fall each; Tilyard, lOst 41b, beat W. Ongley, Oat 121 b, by one fall to none; Simmonds, lOst, lost to Beard, lOst., by two falls to none; Noble, list 51b, beat S. Scott, list 21b., by two falls to none in the first two rounds; Wendon, 9st 81b, lost to Jamieson, 9st 101 b., by two falls to none; W. Benton, lOst 31b., lost to Ninnis, lOst 41b., on points; Peterson, list 21b., drew with Archibald, list lib., no falls; Blain, list., lost to Wright, lOst 131 b., by two falls to none; Power, lOst 21b., beat Millar, lOst., by two falls to none. It was announced that to-night, Anton Koolman, 12st 61b., would wrestle Mark Antonovich, 12st 91b, for the light-heavyweight championship of New Zealaorid, at Napier.
