DEMENTED MAN ACQUITTED. GREYMOUTII, Friday. Pleading not guilty, Ralph Ilbert Tyler to-night was acquitted on grounds of insanity on charges of setting fire to a cottage, also the bed clothes therein, forming part of the Oriental Hotel i>remises on 27th October. The evidence showed that accused had been an inmate of a mental hospital. Dr. Brown, of Sunnyside Hospital, stated Tyler was subject to epilepsy, not knowing the nature of his actions when suffering an attack. — (P.A.)
