I ADDINGTON PRICES. CHRISTCHURCH, Wednesday. There was a good demand for fat lambs at Addington to-day. Keen competition from exporters kept prices steady. A yarding of 3600 of better quality light-weights made up to 8d a lb. Extra prime heavy lambs sold to 30s Id; prime heavy, 23s (3d to 265; prime medium-weight, 2us 6d to 235; light, 17s Cd to 20s. Store Ewes.-—Old ewes were cheaper, and others were not so keenly bought. Good two-tooth Romney ewes sold to 29s 9d; ordinary, to 225; good twotooth halfbred, 32s to 33s Gd; medium, to 295; ordinary, 23s to 265; backward, 18s to 225; ordinary 4 and 6-tooth halfbred, 22s (id to 275; plain, 16s to 21s; plain crossbred, ISs to 20s 6d; good s.m. halfbred, 21s 6d to 245; medium, 17s to 20s; good s.m. crossbred, to 225; plain, ,14s Od to ,16s 6d; sound and failing mouth, 10s (id to 14s; forward young wethers, 20s to 22s 6d; others, 14s 3d to 19s; Merino, 12s 7d to 14s (id. Store Lambs.—Competition was more restrained and values were easier by a shilling a head. MASTERTON SALE. The New Zealand Farmers’ Co-op. Distributing Co., Ltd., report on their weekly sale held yesterday as follows: —Our yarding consisted of 7348 sheep (mostly breeding ewes) which were submitted to a very large attendance of local buyers as well as from the Hutt and Manawatu districts. From the outset the sale went with a swing, all lines meeting with keen competition and selling at auction as we went. Prices were easily* from Is to 2s per head up on our last sale a fortnight ago. The same can be said about the few lambs offered. The 2-th ewes on j account of Sir Wm. Perry topped the market at 60s, while the studs on account of the same vendor made from 24 to 3 guineas. Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., report: —A heavy yarding came forward at our weekly sale yesterday, our offering numbering 2898. There was a large and representative attendance, buyers from the West Coast operating very freely. However, local farmers w'ere not easily outbid and the bigger portion of the yarding remained in this district. Prices were on a high level throughout although the quality of the bredeing ewes was not up to the standard of the previous fair. Buyers had to fill their requirements and considering quality, prices were in advance of the last sale. Wethers showed a sharp rise and realised in some cases 2s to 3s above vendors expectations. Lambs also sold well. Competition was keen, a clearance being effected at the following prices:—-A/c Tinakori Station, 4-yr ewes, 21/2 to 20/5; fat ewes, 19/1; 72 cull ewes, 17/2. A/c F. Percy Estate, f.m. ewes, 17/- to 17/6; fat wethers, 23/8. A/c other vendors, store ewes, 14/8. Messrs lhilgety and Co., Ltd., report having had a good yarding of sheep at the Masterton Sale yesterday. There was a large attendance of buyers, and very keen competition was forthcoming

on all lines offered. A good line of 428 5-year old ewes on account of Mr T. A. Brown, “Wailii,” realised 22/-. They report the following range_ of prices:—A/c T. A.
