FARE EVASION
MAN FINED. On arrival of the Wellington-Mas-lerton mail train at the Masterton Railway Station last night at <.50 o’clock, James Shannon, 54 years of age, was arrested on charges of drunkenness and with having failed to pay his rail fare between Carterton and Masterton. This morning Shannon appeared m the Magistrate’s Court before Messrs «Caselberg and A. Rippon, Justices of e Peace. He was fined 10/- and ordered to pay costs of 3/0 for having travelled on the train without having paid his fare and convicted and discharged on the charge of drunkenness.
