METHODIST CHURCH

BUNGALOW FAIR. The members of the Methodist Church Ladies’ Guild have been working steadily for some time preparing for their annual sale of work, which this year will be somewhat different and takes the form of a “Bungalow Fair.” The “Fair” will be held on Wednesday next in the Y.M.C.A. Gymnasium, at 2.30 p.m. The official opening by the Mayoress (Mrs Jordan) will be at 3 p.m. The following is the list of rooms:— Dining, bedroom, study, bathroom, kitchen, pantry, laundry, nursery, and also a wonderful storeroom, under the management of Mr Arthur Hoar. The sweets stalls will be run by the girls’ Bible Class and the afternoon tea by members of the Guild. A very interesting stall will be the cooking competition . Prizes will be given for the best plato of shortbread, sponge sandwich (any filling), madeira cake and fruit cake. The children will be catered for in the form.of a very unusual form of a “lucky dip.”

The numerous stalls will be laden with wonderful Xmas gifts, cakes, Xmas cakes, savouries, produce and all kinds of necessary and useful articles. Admission is free and a cordial invitation is extended to everyone to be present. In the evening there will bo musical items and several interesting side-shows and competitions.
