FOOTBALL

WAIRARAPA v. MANAWATU.

The Wairarapa Rugby representatives will play their final match of the season on Saturday, when they will meet the visiting Manawatu representatives at Memorial Park. The visitors have a particularly strong fifteen this season, and as Wairarapa will be practically at full strength, a fast and interesting encounter should be witnessed. Considerable interest will attach to the appearance in the Manawatu side of McKenzie, who was one of the outstanding forwards in the North and South Island match last Saturday. Mitchell and Cooper are . two other burly forwards whose play is'above the . average. Manawatu won ■ the first of the annual home-and-home matches at Palmerston North recently, but, provided they can secure a reasonable share of the' ball from the scrums, Wairarapa should have little to fear as to the outcome of Saturday’s match. The game will start at 2.30 o’clock.
