MURDER CHARGE

OHIRO ROAD TRAGEDY. JAMES SENT TO TRIAL. WELLINGTON, This Day. James, against whom a murder charge was heard last week, was this morning committed for trial at the next sitting of the Supreme Court at Wellington. (P-A.) George Edward James is charged with having murdered Mrs Cecilia Smith. On the evening of 30tli June, Mrs Smith’s body, with the throat cut, was found in a flat at 27 Ohiro Road. Earlier that day the body of her five-year-old son, Noel, was found on the beach near Point Halswell. The same day James was rescued from the harbour at Tliorndon breastwork.
