PATTERSON BEATS VARGA. NEW PLYMOUTH, Saturday. Jack Patterson was responsible for a surprise defeat of Count Varga in a rather poor bout of thunderbolts, cuffs and slaps freely varying wrestling which otherwise was hard but not brilliant. , , , Varga gained a fall in the third round with headlocks. Patterson evened in the fourth with a spin and dump. In the seventh, Patterson gained a fall With headlocks and a press. —(P-A.) George Walker and Harry Mamos will meet at Wellington to-night.
