GALLIPOLI LANDING
CHIVALRY PILGRIMAGE.
BRITISH AND : TURKS.
LONDON, Monday,
The‘‘Daily Express” says a pilgrimage of chivalry is being arranged for the spring of 1934, when 500 ex-sol-diers of the British and Anzac forces will be entertained by Turkey. Features of the visit will include a peaceful re-enacting of the landing at Anzac, but ending in a friendly handshake with the defending Turks. The landing will be followed by a three days’ tour of the Gallipoli graveyards. General Sir lan Hamilton and Admiral Sir Roger Keyes are assisting in the arrangements for the visit. A liner has already been chartered and the Foreign Office and. the Turkish Embassy are supporting the scheme.
