SUTTON CUP

ENTRIES INVITED. Entries are now invited by the Farmers ’ Union for the Sutton Oup swede j growing competition. This competition is open to swede crops from any growers’ seed and competitors may use any fertiliser. The cup is to be awarded for the best ctrop in the Wairarapa provincial area. Although the competition is conducted by the Farmers’ Union it is open .to all growers of swedes whether members of the Union or otherwise. The entrance fees is 2/6 and no entries will be accepted for crops of less than one acre in area. Employees may enter provided they'have the written consent of the owner of the property. Judging takes place this month and will be carried out by the resident field officer of the Agricultural Department, Mr S. Freeman. The results: of the competition, showing points awarded, the variety of seed and fertiliser used will be available on request to the firms handling seeds and fertiliser. Entry forms and copies of the conditions aire now available on application to Mr James Watson, provincial secretary.
