WINTER QUARTERS. To keep a straw hat in good condition while it is stored away for the winter, first brush it carefully and wipe it with a soft velvet pad to remove dust. Then fill the crown tightly with balls of soft paper to hold it in shape. If the hat is to be kept in a box it should rest on something, so that the brim is not pressed flat. The crown of an old straw hat, cut from the brim, makes a good support. Instead of being packed in a box, a hat may be sealed
