To-day’s results at Wimbledon included:— Third round singles.—Prenn defeated Turnbull, 7/5, 6/0, 6/2; Menzel ('Czechoslovakia) defeated Farquharson (South Africa), 6/3, 6/3, 6/2; Austin (Britain) defeated Giedhill (U.S.A.) 6/3, 10/8, 6/2. In the first round of the doubles Crawford and McGrath (Australia) defeated Cronin and Purcell, 6/2, 6/3, 6/2; Borotra and Brugnon (France) defeated Lee and Lester (Britain), 7/5, 6/2, 6/4. Stedman, who yesterday was unduly distressed at the'end of 'a long match, is to-day in bed with laryngitis. He offered to forfeit to Crawford the match which should be played to-mor-row, but Crawford refused, insisting on postponement till Saturday, to enable Stedman time for recovery.
