INDOOR BOWLS
MASTERTON CETJB. PINKS TOURNAMENT. The Masterton Indoor Bowling Club completed its irink tournament this week when a large number of spectators was present to witness the playoff game which was very interesting in every respect. Some very- good heads‘Were played and excitement-ran high, the play-off teams being:—J. Fenton' T. Ihaka, J. Davies, G. L. Beriveher (s), and W. Drummond, W. E. Brown, F. Dixon, W. Wilkinson (s). The former team won by 18 to 14 and' thus holds' the shield for the year; i The pairs tournament was commenced this week when A. Williams,' W.:. L. Sharman (s) beat G. R. Russell, W. 'Hendry (s), 23 to 19j. T. Ihaka, 0.: A. Leigh (s) beat- G. W. Dickason, 0. W. Perfect (s), 14 to 12; R. A. Larsen, S.. Vincent (s) beat R. Davies, R.- 'Spackman, 25 t0.'15;. R. Simpson, A. W. Chapman (s) beat: J. Jackson, G. L.; Scrivener (s), 22 to 12. The draw for next week is as follow:—•
Tuesday, 4th July, at 7 p.m.—Russell, Hendry (s) v. Drummond, Watson (s); 8 p.m.—Fenton, Pedersen (s) v. Reeves, Buckley (s); 9 p.m.—Bairnes, Dixon (s) v. Jackson, Scrivener (s). Wednesday, sth July, 7 p.m. —'Davis, Wilkinson (s) v. Garstens, Shearer (s); 8 p.m.—Larsen, Vincent (s) v. Reeves, Buckley (s); 9 p.m.—Simpson, Chapman (s) v. 'Spackman, Davies (s). Thursday, 6th July, 7 p.m.—lhaka, Leigh (s) v. Brown, Evans (s); 8 p.m. — Fenton, Pedersen (s) v. Barnes, Dixon (s); 9 p.m. —Dickason, Perfect (s) v. Williams, Sharman (s). All players - are reniinded that they must be .ready to start at the stated times.
