GOLD DISCOVERY

RICH CLAIMS. DUNEDIN, Thursday. In connection with the rich gold discovery at Headman’s Point, Cromwell, it was reported to-day that a syndicate representing London, Australian- and New Zealand capital has secured an option- over *4*-claim which is 67 acres in.extent. • ’ A sum of £SO was paid for the option for one month and if the option is then exercised Mr Russell and party will receive £17,000 in cash and 3000 paid up £1 shares. The option can be renewed at the end of the month for two further months ;by the payment of £IOO. Although this may seem large some amounts almost as large have been offered for other claims in the district. Negotiations are being completed for ■the purchase of one area on the Kawarau for £15,000 and several others in the vicinity are being sought at prices on a par with this. —(P.A.) ,
