At the meeting of the Wairarapa Returned Soldiers’ Association last night Mr J. H. Irving was elected delegate to the conference of the N.Z.R.S.A. to be held on 20th June, at Wellington. khrs J. Rey-nolds, of Renall Street, Master-ton, celebrated her 95th birthday on Saturday last. She is one of the pioneers of the Wairarapa, having arrived in 1564. Hardinge, of -Grey-town. At the meeting of the Master ton District Girl Guides’ Association yesterday afternoon the resignation of Mrs Wilton as Brown Owl was accepted with regret and it was decided- to write expressing appreciation of her -services to the Guides and Brownies. The election of graduates ’ representatives to the Canterbury College Board of Governors resulted as ’follows:—R, H ebb urn, 272 votes; R. A. Campbell, 255; W. G. Hunter, 255. A. Campbel and Hunter tied for second place and the returning officer drew lots and Campbell won. The death occurred at Featherston. on Saturday, of Mr J. P. Ferguson, who had been a resident o-f the -district forthe past 40 years. The late Mr Ferguson; who was 64 years of age, was in Greytown, and for many years fol» lowed the trade) of a coach-builder. HeT had been in failing health for some time. Earl Beauchamp, who was a Governor of New South Wales more than MO years ago, was among the passengers on the Makura, which arrived in ’W ellington from Sydney yesterday morning. Earl Beauchamp, who visited New Zealand last yeaT, will continue on the Makura to Tahiti, where he intends staying for some time to recruit Ins health. ,
