REFEREES’ ASSOCIATION - . Tlic annual meeting of the Wairarapa Hockey Referees’ Association was held in the Y.M.C.A. rooms last- evening, Mir A. D. Pickering presiding over a good attendance of members. Tliei annual report and balance sheet were adopted. Mr Pickering spoke in appreciative, terms of the hon. secretary’s efforts in preparing the report. The balance sheet also was very satisfactory, Mir Pickering congratulating tire association on its work on behalf of lioekey in general. Mr A. E. Stubbings, as examiner, tabling his report, congratulated referees who gained their district; badges, also those who gained passes in their New Zealand theory examinations, namely, Messrs G. V. .Morice, R. S. Moor and I). Burgess. Mr Stubbings’s report, also stated that the refereeing as a whole had improved a great (leal during the season. Mr Stubbings was accorded a hearty vote of thanks for his report. A letter was received from the Men’s Hockey Association expressing appreciation of the services rendered on its behalf and wishing the association another successful season. Mr D. Burgess forwarded his resignation from the asociation owing to his leaving the district.. It was decided to send him a letter of appreciation. The new rules coming into force this season were also received and discussed. In recognition of his services, the secretary was voted an honorarium. The association will be pleased to receive new members.
