FARMER SELLS BEER

COMPLAINTS BY PARENTS. DANNEVIRKE, Tuesday. A farmer of Maharaliara, Francis Stanley Rhodes, in November last disposed of a quantity of bottled beer to youthful patrons at dances at Maharaliara and Te Rehunga. Complaints by parents led to action by the police, and Rhodes appeared before the magistrate, Mr Miller, charged with selling liquor without being licensed to do so. Accused pleaded guilty and admitted having been before the court previously. Ho was convicted and fined £ls, plus court charges. —(P.A.)
