SOLWAY HOME

ENJOYABLE CONCERT. ST. VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY. The inmates of the Solway Old Men’s Home were entertained at the Home last night by the St. Vincent de Paul Society, when a very enjoyable concert programme was presented. Those who contributed to the programme were: —Vocal solos, Mr Herbert and Mr Givadinger, Miss Beals and Miss Diggins; recitations, Miss MoPhail and Miss Kerins; violin solo, Mr J. Gallagher; pianoforte solo, Miss M. Dwyer. The accompaniments were played by Miss Mulvey and Mr Vincent. Mr McGregor, Master of the Home, also sang a solo. A popular item of the evening was the community singing. The inmates were each the recipient of a small gift from the Society, Mr Bradbury making the presentations and expressing the season’s greetings on behalf of the Society. A dainty supper was provided by the ladies.

Mr N. Lee thanked the concert party on behalf of the Board for the pleasant evening tendered to the inmates.
