SCIENCE SCHOLARSHIP
POST GRADUATE AWARD. TO MR. R. M. BAERER. Advice lias been received that Mr R. M. Barrel’, son of Mr and Mrs T. R. Barrer, of Renall Street, Masterton, lias been awarded the Post-Graduate Travelling Scholarship in Science for 1932. Mr Barrer is at present attending Canterbury University College and is an old Wairarapa 'High School boy. Mr Barrer is a particularly brilliant student and has won no less than seven scholarships. It is possible that he may this year be awarded an 1851 Exhibition Scholarship, the highest award in the science world, as his name with that of two other New Zealanders has been forwarded to the English Commissioner as the nominees of Now Zealand for the honour. In the usual course of events one name only is sent forward but this year the New Zealand Senate found it impossible to separate three students of which Mr Barrer was one. Mr Barrer hopes to enter Cambridge University in October of this year and will probably leave New Zealand for England in August. Should he not go to Cambridge Mr Barrer will enter King’s College, London,
