WAIRARAPA REFEREES. ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Wairarapa Hockey Referees’ Association was held in the Y.M.C.A. Rooms last evening. Mr A. E. Pickering presided over a good attendance of members.

The second annual report, which Avas adopted, recorded a very successful season and shoAved a marked improvement on the first year’s activities. “We no doubt owe our success,” the report proceeds, “to the good feeling and cooperation Avhicli exists between referees and players, both on and off tlie playing field. For an association only in existence two seasons, avo have attained everything that could be desired, namely, first grade referees, uniformity, cooperation and a. firm financial footing.” An outstanding feature of the season Avasl the success of a. member, Mr A. Stubbings, in obtaining his Ncav Zealand badge. After referring to the loss of Mr. J. Ebbett’s services, the report expressed keen appreciation of tre work done by Mr L. S. Nicol, and the services rendered by Messrs R. P. Staples and Alex. Pickering. Thanks were extended to the Ladies’ Association for a donation, and to the Gladstone Ladies’ Club. The New Zealand Association invited members to attend the annual meeting, to be held in Wellington on 7th April. A report from the examining committee was also received. A A-ote of thanks to Mr Stubbings Avas carried by acclamation.

It Avas decided to hold monthly meetings for general discussion. In recognition of his past services, a small honorarium Avas granted to the secretary. A remit from this association to be forwarded to the Ncav Zealand examiners that in future all candidates sitting for the Ncav Zealand badge -bo informed of the marks gained, Avliethcr they pass or fail. The association adA'ised the delegates to both the Ladies’ and Men’s Associations that they must emphasise tlie fact that all sticks must conform Avitli the regulations and pass through a 2-inch ring, Avhile the rules regarding starting time, costumes, colours and balls must all be observed. TOT A TCA CLUB. The Kia Tea Ladies’ Hockey Club held their annual meeting in tlie Memorial Hall on Tuesday evening, Miss Elliott presiding over a large attendance. The report of the previous year’s work which Avas adopted, showed that the club had a very successful season, the team being successful in winning the Kia Toa Challenge Cup, and being runners-up in the Wairarapa competition. The balance sheet, Avhicli Avas adopted, showed that the club had a small balance in hand. A vote of thanks Avas passed to the retiring officers. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows:—Patron* Mr V. K. Lemberg; president, Mr J. Milner; vice-presidents, Mesdames Godden, O. Mortensen, A. Larsen H. Freeman, Misses I. Lemberg and Fredricksen and Messrs. A. Nielsen, J. Gilmour, J. McGovern, P. J. Softley, F. Newman, L. Nielsen, A. Forsberg, R. Bishop, 11. Elliott, R. Gvde, C. Eckliold, H. Myers and T. Manihera; secretary, Miss D. Palmer; delegate to Wairarapa Association, Mr A. Stubbings; committee, Misses R. Mortensen, F. Martin, J. Elliott and T., Newman Avitli the secretary; coach,' Mr P K. Ngatuero. ’it was decided to enter one senior team in the Wairarapa competition, tlie colours again to be green and white. The season Avill be opened Avith a practice on Saturday, at 2 p.m. The committee decided to combine with the men’s club to hold the opening ball on 31st March.

MAURICEVILLE CLUB,

The annual meeting of the Mnuneeville Men’s Hockey Club was held m the Memorial Hall on Tuesday evening, Mr II C. Mortensen presiding. ' The' report of the previous year showed that the club had a successful season. The balance sheet, shoving a small balance, was adopted. The election of officers resulted as follows: —Secretary, Mr H. C. Mortensen; committee, Messrs. K. Clement, K. Herr and F. Osborne; delegates to Wairarapa Association, Messrs. F. Osborne and H. C. Mortensen. It was decided to enter two teams, an A and a B, in the Wairarapa competitions, the colours to be the same as last year. The subscription was fixed at os. Practices are to commence at an early date.
