SYDNEY SALES. TRICES FIRM. SYDNEY, Tuesday. At the wool sales to-day, the offerings totalled 10,124 bales, of which 9007 were sold at auction and 637 privately. Yorkshire was the chief operator, with fair support from France and Italy. Values are holding well. Greasy Merino made up to 13§d. LONDON SALES. PRICES FAIRLY STEADY’. LONDON, Monday. Offerings at the wool sales to-day were 801 S bales, including 3472 New Zealand. About 5672 were sold. The market was fairly steady, and most of the offerings were cleared, with a general demand. Greasies: New Zealand, “Birchliill,” sold highest lOd, average Sfd; seoureds, “Weka Downs,” highest laid, average lod. Hie Bradford tops market is quietly steady. NAPIER SALE. OPENING BRICES. ABOVE WELLINGTON RATES. NAPIER, This Day. Numerous withdrawals were the order of the Napier wool sale this morning. The opening prices were on a par to i ( l above the Wellington rates last week, showing a drop of about ?d to Id on the last Napier sale. Fine quality fleece wools created eager bidding, mainly from Bradford, but many lots were passed in. The quality as a general rule was below the last sale. —(P.A.)
