Released recently from prison, Arthur Patrick McGuire was eon\ icted to-day on a charge of stealing a biief bag and contents, valued at £2O, the property of Dr. Pairman. “ Why did you steal the doctor’s surgical instruments?” asked the magistrate. “Your action might have cost some person his life. ” McGuire was sentence 1 tc six months’ hard labour.—(P.A.)
