CYRIL MAUDE.
“THESE CHARMING PEOPLE.” There will be delightful fare offered Regent patrons for Wednesday next. In “These Charming People,” a Paramount British production, which will open at the Regent Theatre on Wednesday next, 16th March, Cyril Maude follows up his success in “Grumpy” with another delightful characterisation. He plays 'the role of an impecunious old colonel, gifted with humour and finesse, who lives by his wits, obtaining everything that money cr credit can obtain. It is a fascinating play of English society—among “those charming people,” whose one aim and ambition in life io to acquire money and position, quite disregarding such a banal thing as love! Cyril Maude appears as the very impecunious but lo\able colonel, the father of two beautiful girls (Nora Swinburne and Ann Todd). His acting, with its poise and restraint, so delightfully English, is splendid, and so far as the humour of th» play is concerned, he is rcsponmble for i' all.
