NORjHIERN UNION TEST. ENGLAND DEFEATS WALES. (Received Thursday, 10.5 a.m.) LONDON, Wednesday, a Northern Union game England Wales by 19 points to 2, at Salford. WING-FORWARD DEFENDED. HA AULT ON, Wednesday. "There is nothing wrong with our formation, which has stood the test of forty years,” stated Air. George Gillett, of Hamilton, one of the star players of the 1904-1905 All Blacks, who during that tour played frequently in the role of wing-forward. "A proposal aiming at any change in the Rugby game New Zealand has known for so long will meet with much opposition -4R,-hen it come before the annual meeting of delegates,” Mr.: Gillett said. "There is nothing to say. You cannot play the man in this position. If you have ten players in the scrum, the one person to handle the wing-for-ward is the referee. "A good wing-forward can open up . .the game as well as the best half-back, jjtbth can take their place on the field -without detriment to them or to the team work as a whole.” —(P.A.).
