BOMB THROWN MURDEROUS ATTACK. Press Association Electric Telegraph—Copyright CALCUTTA, Friday. An attempt to assassinate Mr. H. Quinto, District Magistrate in the Howrah suburb of Calcutta, occurred when a bomb was thrown at his private saloon on a train. The carriage was damaged, but Mr. Quinto was unhurt. No arrests were made. Police-Sergeant Bourne was beaten senseless with iron rods by suspected Terrorists, and taken to hospital in a precarious condition. Tho Bombay Government has ordered the forfeiture of over £2OOO lying in two Indian banks to the credit of four prominent Congressmen, as the Government is satisfied the funds were intended to be used for the purpose of the Bombay Congress Committee.

CALCUTTA, Friday

A young revolutionary believed to be named Yashpal, was arrested at Allahabad in a house occupied by an European woman Theosophist who married an Indian. When the door was opened to admit the police party, the revolutionary suspect fired six shots, but the police were not injured. A man and woman also were arrested and a large quantity of arms and ammunition seized. CONGRESS FLAG. SUPPRESSED AT LAST. CALCUTTA, Saturday. The tri-coloured flag of the Indian National Congress, which has floated over the Calcutta Corporation buildings for over four years, thereby arousing the fierce resentment of Britishers at the supine attitude of the Government is no longer to be seen, as the Government has forbidden it. POLICE OFFICER FOUND DEAD. CALCUTTA, Saturday. Police-Superintendent B. J. Shooter, who was transferred from Chittagong to Calcutta, following a Government inquiry into Hindu-Moslem at Chittagong last year, was found shot dead in the United Service Club, with a revolver by liis side.
