YESTERDAY AFTERNOON’S PLAY

The Wairarapa Lawn Tennis Association *s championship and handicap tourney was continued yesterday afternoon. A surprise was the defeat of Miss M. Whyte, North Island lady champion, by Miss Graham, of Pahiatua, in the second round of the ladies’ singles championship. Miss Whyte, however, was handicapped by a leg injury received while playing at the championships at Palmerston North two weeks’ ago. Following are the detailed results.
