WIRTH’S CIRCUS

AN EXCELLENT SHOW. A circus is always a special attractive form of entertainment to young and old. This was shown in a remarkable degree last night when Messrs. Wirth Bros, great show attracted a very large audience last night. The huge tent was a sea of happy faces and the funny antics of the clowns was a source of great joy to tar youngsters.

The big feature of the night’s entertainment was the appearance of Kazberg’s Troupe of Russian Cos:,inks, who were seen in a remarkable series of clever and daring feats of horsemanship. The act, which abounded with thrills, included military changes and pyramids on horseback. All the feats were enacted while the horses were galloping ta full speed round the ring. Miss Yvonne proved herself an exceptionally gifted contortionist and was freely applauded. Grace and charm were blended with skill and daring in the act of Les Quatre Ilirondelles, introducing the four Miss Wirths. The various aerial acts were all skilfully carried out while the performing bears, lions, horses and elephants were all greatly admired. The “Four Uessems” lived up to their reputation as the “boys who defy gravitation,” in a series of difficult balancing acts, remarkably well performed. The work of the “Four Sylvesters,” wonderful juvenile acrobats, was well received. Clever clowns provided the necessary humorous element and provoked many hearty laughs, especially from juvenile members of the audience.

Large numbers of people, of course, including many juveniles, took the opportunity of- visiting the Circus Zoo in the afternoon and much interest was taken in the representative collection of animals Messrs. Wirth Bros, have assembled.
