CIRCUS ABLAZE
ARSON SUSPECTED. TERRTFYING SCENES. BRUSSELS, Thursday. Arson is suspected as the cause of afive which destroyed the famous Surazani Circus at Antwerp. There were terrifying scenes while two bundled horses, 57 lions, 10 tigers, 12 Polar bears and 22 elephants were rescued. The keepers rushed in among the plunging leasts and released them from their foot chains, but it was impossible to release eleven, whies were fatall) burned. The damage exeeedes £20,000. An anonymous threat to burn the circus was received yesterday. has been much controversy over allowing a foreign circus to enter the countiy «■'*’ a time of economic crisis.
