BOYS’ CAMP SCHEME. . MASTERTON ’S CONTRIBUTION. < < The time has arrived for me to publicly acknowledge the wonderful hospitality of the people of Masterton since the establishment of the camp,” said Mr. L. J. Greenberg, commandant ot the unemployed boys’ camp at Penrose, to a “Dailv Times” representative yesterday. It had, he said, supplemented the efforts of the Wellington friends ot the movement. “I would,” Mr. Greenberg observed, ‘ < like the people of Masterton to know that avc are not just taking the hospitality and gifts for granted. We most sincerely appreciate the tremendous assistance given by the people of Masterton. It has been a source of tremendouso encouragement to us in the work at the camp.” In addition to making reference to the splendid help given by various firms in the town, Mr. Greenberg spoke in highest terms of the assistance so willingly rendered by private individuals. He made particular reference to Mr. C. E. Daniell, Avho, lie said, had been a tower of strength in the organisation of the programme so far as the Masterton end Avas concerned. He aeknoAvledged the help of the management of the Regent and Cosa Theatres for entertainment and expressed his thanks to Mrs. S. J. Smith, avlio organised a concert party, to Messrs. C. E. Daniell Ltd., W.F.C.A. Ltd., and the Wairarapa Carriers’ Association for transport; to Messrs fhos. Borthwiek and Sons, Ltd, for storage; to the Women’s Division of the Wairarapa branch of tlio Farmers’ Union for gifts of goods ;to the Masterton Rotary Club, for services and gifts; to Drs. N. Prior and J. C. Forsyth, for medical sendees; to the Ladies’ Auxiliary of the Y.M.C.A. and to the Y.M.C.A. for the loan of equipment; to the ministers of the x-arious churches, for support and conducting religious services. Mr. Greenberg also expressed his gratitude to the local officers of Government departments, including Agriculture, Labour, Health, RaihA’ays, and the Post Office authorities.
