BUILDING SOCIETIES

MONTHLY MEETINGS. The monthly meeting of directors of the Workmen’s Friend Building Society (No. 1) was held last evening, Mr F. J. Hunn presiding. There were also present: Messrs. T. Jenkins, K. E. Jones, W. 11. Jackson, W. Kemp, A. V. Dixon and T. B. Braggins. Apologies for absence were tendered for Messrs. 11. J. O’Leary and E. J. Brown. Correspondence was dealt with and it was decided to settle two appropriations and release the securities. The annual report and balance sheet were submitted and approved, subject to the usual audit. It was also decided to hold further appropriations at the annual meeting to be held on February 22 next.

NO. 2 SOCIETY. The monthly meeting of directors of No. 2 Society was also held, the same directors being present. Correspondence was dealt with and six new shares were allotted. The finance report was considered and another appropTiation will be held shortly.
