BROKERS’ REPORTS. The N.Z. Farmers’ Co-op. Distributing Co., Ltd., have received a cable from its London Office, which reads: Active demand Home and German buyers. Good demand all kinds of wool. Compared with closing last series greasy coarse and medium c-rosbred unchanged; fine crossbred, Jd higher. Messrs. Murray, Roberto and Co., Ltd. are in receipt of the following wool market cablegram from their London agents, dated January 12th: ‘ Sales have opened firm, competition brisk; Yorkshire principal buyers and operating moderately. Compared with last London sale’s closing rates—Greasy merino fine advanced 5 per cent., other descriptions and scoured merino market shows no material change. Crossbred, greasy fine, market firm and show's a. hardening tendency; greasy medium and coarse, market shows no material change; scoured, market shows no change; slipe c-rosbred, par to 5 per cent, decline. Quotations (closing rates November-December series in parentheses):—New Zealand merino, 60/61, yielding 48 per cent., none (8?d); halfbred, 56, yielding 60 per cent., 10 id (lOld); super fine crossbred, 50, yielding 65 per cent., 7fd (7fd); medium crossbred, 44/46 preparing, yielding 74 per cent., 64d (6id); medium crossbred, 44/46 carding, yielding 72 per cent., 6d (Grid); coarse crosbred, 40/44> yielding 73 per cent., sld (3Ad). Wright, -Stephenson and Co., Ltd., and Abraham and Williams Ltd., roport having received the following cabled advice from their London house: —Wool sales opened. Average attendance of buyers. Competition animated. Continental and Bradford buyers chief operators. Average selection. Greasy halfbred, 50/56’s, yielding 67 per cent., lOd; greasy threequarter-bred, 48/50’s, yielding 73 per cent., 73d. Australian merinos, price par to 5 per cent, higher. Slipe market unchanged. December prices w r ell maintained.

Tho Now Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., lias received the following advice from its London office 1 : —-There was a good attendance at the opening of tho sales to-day, competition by Home and German buyers being fairly active, and prices, as compared with preceding auctions, were in sellers’ favour for greasy, merino and fine greasy crossbred, otherwise market firm. The opening catalogue were fairly representative. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., have received the following report, dated London, January 12th., from their head office: London wool sales opened active, competition animated, large attendance of buyers, fair selection. Home trade principal operators, Continental buyers fairly active. Merino firm at unchanged prices. Pieces and bellies par to 5 per cent.’ higher. Fine crossbred, change if any, is in favour of sellers. Keen demand for 50’s and above. Medium crossbred unchanged. Coarse crossbred, change if any is in favour of buyers.
