RURAL BANK DEPOSITS

A BETTER OUTLOOK. SYDNEY, Tuesday. Mr Riddle, governor of the Commonwealth Bank, announced that the Rural Bank fixed deposits, which have been capitalised at 3 per cent., will be reconverted to fixed deposits at increased rates. Ten per cent, are already made available for withdrawal, and of the remaining balance half will be converted into fixed deposits for twelve months being interest at 3£ per cent., and the other half into fixed deposits for two years at 4 per cent.
