BUSH FIRES
AREAS THREATENED CROPS IN GRAVE DANGER. Press AssuiliiiLa Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received Tuesday, 0.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. Bush fires in the Wagga district continue to threaten further areas in uhich there is rank dry grass adjoining ripening wheat, which is in grave danger, despite the strenuous efforts of large bodies of men to cope with the flames. Other districts are suffering similarly, owing to the dry weather. One hundred horses on the Stirling Hill became panic-stricken when grass fires surrounded their enclosure. The police and manager had to cut the fences to release thein.
FORTUNATE CHANGE OF WIND. (Received Tuesday, 9.30 a.m.) .ADELAIDE, This Day. The township of Woodside, in the Hilly country, was endangered by bush fires, but a fortunate change of wind averted disaster.
A good deal of damage has been done in various places, and a number of stock have been burned.
