BUSH FIRES

HOUSES DESTROYED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, Wednesday. Bush fires over a very wide area m the Gatlins district have been raging since Friday. On Saturday they destroyed a six-roomed house at Ivatanui owned by Mr Alexander Anderson, farmer and storekeeper.

Other property destroyed, besides much valuable timber, was a fourroomed house at Pounawea, owned by Mr J. A. Lumsden, and a stable and cottage at Wright’s sawmill at Tahakopa, , , ;
