THE DOLE

THE DOST TO BRITAIN. LONDON, Friday. In the House of Commons Mr Ramsay MacDonald announced that a resolution was being introduced on Monday increasing the borrowing powers of .the Unemployment Insurance Fund from £90,000,000 to £115,000.000. A meeting of the Liberal Party decided to support this demand. The Prime Minister said that the Government had given attention to every phase of trade depression, including last year’s downward tendency of wages. Generally speaking, wages had fallen less than the cost of living, and therefore there was no reduction in spending power.
