MINE HOLD-UP
REPRIMAND RESENTED. (By Telegraph—Press Association), AUCKLAND, Thursday. Work at the Glen Afton mine, near Iluntly, was stopped to-day, and between GOO and 700 men have been deprived of work for two days through the miners taking exception to two boys being ordered to report to the manager for failing to work full time. The men stated that the two boys, who were working -on the surface, became wet through on Wednesday when attending to the screens, and went home before their allotted time. On returning to work they were told to report to the manager. The men objected to the boys being reprimanded, and decided not to work that day as a protest. The management thereupon declared the mine closed until Monday.
