SCENE OF SPLENDOUR.
MARRIAGE OF PUKE’S SON.
LONDON, Thursday
“The Times” Palermo correspondent states that a splendour hardly surpassable had they been heirs to a reigning house, marked the wedding of Prince Henry, son of the Due de Guise, Pretender to the French Throne, with Princess Isabel Orleans Braganza, who is a distant cousin.
There could not have been a more brilliant scene. The guests were distinguished and the ceremony most imposing- . Scores of European Princes and Princesses were present, and the British Ambassador to Italy represented his Majesty.
No fewer than SOO French Royalists arrived in a specially chartered liner. By special permission of the Pope, the' Cardinal Archbishop of Palermo officiated. Richly-dressed guests thronged the cathedral interior, which was bedecked with antique tapestries, bejewelled vessels, and rich vestments. Outside there weer cordons of troops in the uniform of the Fascist militia. Luncheon for 700 guests was served in the grounds of the Palace Duumaje, centuries old Palermo home of the Oilcans family.
