WILLIAM WYLLIE, R.A.

The death is announced of the wellknown painter, Mr William .Lionel Wyllie, E.A., at the age of 42. His best-known pictures are ‘ ‘ The Winding Medway,” “Barry Dock,” and “The Liner’s Escort.” With Mr F. Wren, he wrote “Sea Eights of the Great War. ’ ’ LADY WYNDHAM. LONDON,. Tuesday. The actress, Mary Moore, Lady Wyndhani, widow of the late Sir Charles 'Wyndhani, is dead. After playing the provinces in the ’eighties, she became leading actress at the Criterion Theatre under .Sir Charles "Wyndhani, and later was associated with him in the ownership and management. Among her famous parts were:— Ladv Susan, the Case of Rebellious Susan, Lady Jessica in “The Liars," Mrs Parbury in “The ’Tyranny oi: Tears,” Lady Eastney in “Mrs Dane’s Defence,” and Mrs Baxter in “The Mollusex. ’ ’ WOMAN NOVELIST. L 0 XD OX, T uesday. The death ha,a occurred of Mrs'Katherine Tynan (Mrs H. A. Hinksou), novelist and verse writer. The late Mrs Katherine Tynan (Hinkson) began writing at the age of 17, and published her first volume of verse, “Louise de la Yalliere,” in 1885. Her first prose work, ‘ ‘ Shamrocks,” was published in 1887, and since that date she had been a most prolific writer of novels and poems. Her fame rests chiefly upon her novels for girls. Among her most recent publications are “Ilaroun of. London,” “The House in the Purest, ” “The Rich Man.” and “A Fine Gentleman.”
