GOLF IN MASTERTON.

The game of golf becomes more popular in Masterton each year, and the past season has been one of the most successful ever recorded by the local club. Excellent management must bring about progress and prosperity, and that is what has been achieved by those who control the affairs of the Masterton Golf Club. The splendid greens at Lansdowne are numbered among the best in the Dominion, and for that reason the local club has a claim to a Dominion tournament. A pleasing feature in connection with the game of golf in Masterton is the number of young players who have taken up the game recently, and the club members are fortunate in that there is available the best of coaching for those who care to avail themselves of it. The club will hold a tournament, commencing on Saturday morning, and extending over three days, and lovers of golf should be provided with keen contests and high grade golf—a fitting finale to a most successful season.
