AMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIPS. NEW MGER, Monday. A message from Glendale (California) states that it was announced at the Pittsburg National Track and Field Championships that Frank Wykoff had broken his ankle. Paul Jessup (Seattle) threw the discus 169 feet 8 7-8 inches, a new world record. Tolan defeated Simpson in the hundred yards in 9 7-10 sec. Simpson defeated Tolan in the 220 yards in 21 3-osec. (an American record). Steve Anderson (Seattle) equalled the world record of 14 2-ssec. for 120 yards. CANADIAN RELAY RACE. 4- MONTREAL, Monday. At Toronto in a thirty miles invitation relay race at the Canadian National Exhibition Joie Ray, of Chicago, and August Fager defeated by half a mile Simpson and N. B. McNamara, of Murlington, United States, and Brisbane, Australia.
