HOCKEY.

LADIES’ ASSOCIATION. A meeting of the Wairarapa Ladies ’ Hockey Association was liekl at Carterton last evening. There was a good attendance of delegates. Mr Wallis (Greytown) advised that he could not accept the position as one of the selectors. Mr King (Gladstone) is to be asked to fill the vacancy.

A donation of £1 was made to the Wairarapa High School for the use of their ground for the annual tournament and a donation of 10s 6d was made to the Wairarapa Hockey Referees’ Association.

It was decided to send a representative team to the New Zealand Ladies’ Tournament to be held at Invercargill in August. A request from the Bush Association for a match with Wairarapa on July 5 was declined, as insufficient time was given. It was decided to suggest to the Bush Association July 23 as a date for the Bush representatives to visit Wairarapa, the return game to be played on August 23. An A and B trial match will be played on July 19 to select a team to play Bush districts. A letter to be written to the Wellington Association regarding senior and junior games to be played in Wairarapa. The next meeting is to be held in Masterton. It was decided that the Association have teams’ sheets printed as soon as possible.

Mr Foster and Mr Morice were appointed to draw up new rules to be adapted from those of the Wellington Association.
