PLUNKET SHIELD. WELLINGTON v. AUCKLAND. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The final Plunket Shield match of the season commenced between Auckland and Wellington to-day in fine, sunny weather. Auckland won the toss, and Mills and Anthony went out to bat on what appeared to be a good wicket. McGirr opened for Wellington, bowling from the southern end, and off his fifth ball clean bowled -Mills before a run had been scored. At 8, Anthony was caught by Cameron off Massey, with 5 to his credit. After-this the batsmen watched the bowling carefully, and runs came slowly for a time. Fifty went up in as many minutes.

Gallichan came on at the northern end, and with the fourth ball of his third over clean-bowled Gillespie.—s 4 -—3 —26. Weir is not out with 19 runs to his credit.
