BRITISH FARMERS’ VISIT.
The visit of the British farmers to Masterton and other parts of the Wairarapa to-morrow should provide a splendid advertisement for the district in a pastoral and agricultural sense. In welcoming our-visitors, we trust that their stay, though short, will be enjoyable and profitable. They should find much to interest them, especially in relation to a comparison of the conditions and methods of farming in the Wairarapa and at Home. Masterton will have plenty to show them in regard to the breeding of out splendid sheep, horses and cattle, and our visitors doubtless will be able to secure much information that will be of value to them when they return to their own country; for there is always something new. to be learned in the way of methods, and a young country has always fresh ideas which mav appeal to an old land, particularly in regard to agriculture and sheep and cattle rearing. The stay of the visitors is all too brief, but this is unavoidable in the circumstances, and if the mapped-out tour of the Wairarapa is successfully carried out, the result should be beneficial to all concerned.
