THE Y.M.C.A.
An institution that deserves _ the strongest support of the citizens of Masterton and district is the YMC A. To the stranger to the town, the Y.M.C.A. holds _ out a friendly hand, and bids him welcome and make himself at home. To the resident of Masterton the Y.M.C.A. is a place where his boy can come under a good influence, and where lie can join in activities which will benefit him intellectually and spiritually. It is somewhat of a reflection on Masterton that the institution should find itself always hard pressed for monev to carry on its good work or to develop the institution on more extensive lines. However, those at the head of affairs che.eifullj “carry on” in spite of all difficulties, knowing that the Y.M.C.A. is filling an important niche _ in the life of the town, and especially in developing the character of the youth of Masterton. Me trust that the' day is not far distant when the Y.M.C.A. will, through bequests or other grants of money, be placed in such a financial position that its officials will have no further worry on this score, and, consequently, will be able to extend the operations of the institution for the benefit of the town and its citizens.
