MT. BRUCE NOTES.

•(Special to “Daily Times.”) The Mt. Bruce Social Club held its final dance of the season last Friday, which was a huge success, visitors being in attendance from the neighbouring districts, and also from Masterton. The duties of M.C. were in the hands of Messrs J. Barnes, R. Campbell and -J. Daken, who kept the dance going with a swing from start to finish. Music was supplied by the Metropole Orchestra, and extras were played by Messrs Jack Barnes, M. Peters and Miss E. Hunt.

The lucky spot waltz was won by Mr ‘and Miss Bothwell, and the Monte Carlo was won by Mrs C. Welch and Mr Millar.

The supper, which was in the hands of a ladies’ committee, was a very dainty one.

The Mt. Bruce Social Club wish to thank all those who attended their dances during the season, and also extend a hearty invitation to their dances next season. The Mt. Bruce Tennis Club opened its courts on Saturday last with a Yankee tournament, which was won by Miss I. Reader and Mr N. Wyeth. There were about 40 members present.

A very welcome rain fell here yes terdav.
