‘•My outstanding impression of a world tour is the remarkable recovery being made by England, ’ said Mr J. L. Webb, who arrived at Auckland by the Aorangi from Sydney after a six months’ trip abroad. Mr Webb visited the United StJites, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Austria and Italy. Discussing England, Mr Webb said that there were more signs of poverty in many of the cities of the United States than there were in the city in England, London included. Austria was labouring under adverse conditions, but he found Germany prosperous. In Germany everyone seemed to be working and production was increasing every day.
